Antoine “Sam” Fayette, 84, a Native and resident of Lockport, died Sunday, August 21, 2022 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Holy Savior Catholic Church (Little Church), Lockport, LA. Visitation will begin from 10:00 AM until funeral time. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
“Sam” is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Claudia) Fayette; 2 Sons, Ricky Fayette (Becky), and Earl Fayette; 1 Daughter, Susan F. Chauvin (Marty); 3 Grandchildren, Jasmine Savoie, Marie Pitre (Derrick), and Marty Chauvin, Jr.; and 2 Great-Grandchildren, Marcy Pitre and Sam Savoie.
He was the youngest sibling of 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
He was a welder and pipefitter who worked his way up in the shipyard. “Sam” was a hard worker and loved the outdoors. He loved to go crabbing, butterfly hunting, and enjoyed spending time at the camp he and his wife built on Lake Fields. The family acknowledges that he was loved abundantly and will be greatly missed.
