Anse Joseph Guidry, 79, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Larose, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano and from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Bourgeois Guidry; son, Timothy Guidry and wife, Deborah, of Larose; daughters, Connie Schouest, of Larose, and Dolly Punch and husband, Dwayne, of Waveland, Miss.; siblings, Kelton Guidry, of Golden Meadow, Armond Guidry, of Cut Off, Nolan Guidry, of Golden Meadow, Alvin Guidry, of Lockport, Jessie Guidry, of Golden Meadow, and Catherine Billiot, of Texas; grandchildren, Ansena Cheramie Barbier, Dixie Cheramie, Johnna Cantrelle, Allena Nacio, Heidi White, Dwayne Punch Jr. and Dolly Schulz; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Anse Barbier, Heaven and Lane Cheramie, Colbie Guidry, Luke and Briannah White, and Joby and Joel Cantrelle; step-grandchild, Marvin Terrebonne Jr.; and step-great-grandchildren, Andris and Anjeleigh Terrebonne, Ethan Dufrene, Taton Little, and Hagen Cheramie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Armond and Attesia Anselmi Guidry; grandmother, Rosita Lee Guidry; stepmother, Felicia Mobley Guidry; siblings, Eves, Andrew, Harrison, Steven, Livingston, and Priscilla Guidry, Nolta Rogers, and Enola Curole; grandchild, Timothy "T.J." Guidry Jr.; great-grandchild, Anthony Barbier Jr.; and step-great grandchild, Mercedes Terrebonne.
He belonged to the Holy Name Society and was a deputy for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office for 28 years.
