Anna Mae Rodrigue Richoux, 88, a native of Larose and resident of Valentine, died at 8:22 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Whitney "Sonny" Richoux and wife, Annirie; daughter-in-law, Janice Gros Richoux; four daughters, Mary Adams and husband, Robert, Dolores Delaune and husband, Jessie Jr., Evelyn Matherne and husband, Roy Jr. "R.J.", and Donna Theriot and husband, Jimmie; half brother, Valcour "Val" Rodrigue; two sisters, Edith R. Punch Cunningham and Ida R. Toups; three half sisters, Joyce R. Aaron, Patsy R. Bourgeois and Judith "Judy" R. Johnson; and 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitney Richoux; parents, Alcide and Annie Delaune Rodrigue, stepmother, Rose Mary Walsh Rodrigue; son, Gerald Richoux; five brothers, Walter, Clifton, Warren, Alcide, and Murphy Rodrigue; two sisters, Doris Rodrigue and Dorothy R. Loupe; and grandson, Chad Delaune.
"Ma Choux" loved children and was well known for her baby cloths that she sewed and crocheted. Her deep religious faith was an inspiration to all who knew her. A parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose, she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and Adorer of Our Perpetual Adoration Chapel
