Alvin Paul Guidry, 83, a native of Lockport and resident of Ponchatoula, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 20th, 2024.
Mr. Guidry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Boudreaux Guidry; one child, Scott Micheal Guidry (Christine); three grandchildren, Morgan Guidry, Wyatt Guidry, and Isabella Guidry; and one step-granddaughter, Isabella Terrio; sisters, Noel Guidry Theriot, and Sherrie Guidry Griffin (Earl); brother in-law, Russel Allemand; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond L. Guidry and Rita Bourgeois Guidry of Lockport; sister, Judy Guidry Allemand; brother, Allen Guidry; and brother in-law, Dwight Theriot.
Mr. Guidry defined what a hard-working man should be. He was probably best known for the many years he worked as produce manager for National Food Stores in Lockport where everyone seemed to know him. After he would finish his usual day of work, he would then switch to his second love, cutting grass. Each and every day, Mr. Guidry would then cut 3, 4, and sometimes 5 yards for many residents across the town of Lockport. Mr. Guidry continued this up until the time he and Mary moved to Ponchatoula where he continued to love working in his yard.
