Alvin Michael Bourgeois, 83, a native and resident of Raceland, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2012 at his home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church Cemetery in Raceland.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Adela Lopez Bourgeois; two daughters, Elizabeth Catchings and husband, Charles, and Christina Lusco and husband, Tony; brother, Milton Bourgeois and wife, Rita; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Yvonne Bourgeois; parents, Joseph and Cordelia Cheramie Bourgeois; brothers, Oral, Okland, and Edward Bourgeois; and sisters, Bernice Babin, Doris Theriot and Catherine Bourgeois.
Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
