Adela Lopez Bourgeois

Adela Lopez Bourgeois, 78, a native of Chihuahua, Mexico and a resident of Raceland, LA, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, May 31, 2024 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, Raceland, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Raceland, LA.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Catchings (Charles IV) and Christina Lusco (Thomas); grandchildren, Avary Catchings, Madison Catchings, Lauren Lusco, Matthew Lusco; brother Jesus Maria Lopez II.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin M. Bourgeois; daughter, Yvonne Bourgeois; parents, Jesus Maria Lopez and Aurora Villalobos Lopez and sister, Felicitas Lopez Mendoza.
Adela was a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church. Before retiring she was a tax preparer at Jackson Hewitt and a translator for patients in Lafourche Parish. She loved traveling and enjoyed painting and sewing. Adela cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who brought joy to her heart.
