Abel J. Loupe, 86, a native and resident of Lockport, LA passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013 at 6:43 PM in Raceland, LA.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Holy Savior Catholic Church, Lockport, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at Holy Savior Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by 4 sons; Calvin Loupe, Sr. and wife Terry, Roland Loupe, Sr., Nolan Loupe and wife Annette, William Loupe and wife Stephanie: 7 daughters, Betty Tastet and husband Bobby, Edna Robichaux and husband Ronald, Sr. "Roach", Debra Boudreaux, Joan Adams and husband Edward "T-Lee", Ruth Savoie and companion Alvin Hebert, Mary Pearl Loupe, Norlie Landry and husband Mark; brother Percy Loupe; 30 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Thibodeaux Loupe, 5 infant children; parents, Yves and Edna Griffin Loupe; brothers, Claude Loupe, John Loupe, Sr., Adam Loupe; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was a life time member of the Lockport Volunteer Fire Department. He loved spending time with his chickens and working in the garden. The family would like to give thanks to Hospice of South Louisiana, Raceland Manor and the doctors who took care of their father.
