Nita Marie Rogers Orgeron (87) a resident of Lockport, previously Larose, died January 1, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. of heart failure at Thibodaux Regional Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church with burial at Holy Savoir Catholic Cemetery.
She is survived by daughters Susan Orgeron Folse of Raceland and Lisa Orgeron of Lockport, sons James Harry Orgeron of Lockport and David Paul Orgeron, and wife Cathy of Abbeville, sister Lourie Rogers LeBlanc of Lockport. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Eric Folse (Jessica) of Raceland, Jason Folse (Amy) of St. Rose, Todd Folse (Baria) of Raceland, Misty LeBlanc Griffin (Reed) of Cut Off, Mindy Orgeron of Houma, Taylor Orgeron of Weatherford, OK and Hunter Orgeron of Abbeville. She is survived by six great-grandchildren, Brianna, Jacob and Caleb Folse of Raceland, Rysin Griffin of Cut Off, Brayden Roelle of Houma and Baron Autin of Raceland.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Harry T. Orgeron, daughter Debra Orgeron Boudreaux of Raceland, parents Davis and Lylia Plaisance Rogers of Larose, brothers Whitney Rogers and Sidney Rogers of Lockport, Freddie Rogers of Larose, and sister Bertha Rogers Stevens of Mathews.
She and Harry were long time active members of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus in Lockport. They enjoyed dancing and watching football, especially the Saints. She was a volunteer at Holy Savior Catholic School in Lockport. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and cards with her friends and was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland.
